L-R: Akeem Bourne and Chavis Wilson

A young man is dead and his gun slinging friend is on the run following a deadly confrontation in East Ruimveldt Georgetown this morning just around 09:00hrs.

Dead is 30-Year-Old Chavis Wilson of the East Ruimveldt Squatting area. Residents said that he was killed by his partner in crime whose name was given as Akeem Bourne.

During a visit to the location shortly after the shooting, BIG Smith News Watch was told Bourne and Wilson had a confrontation over money and an iPhone.

Bourne reportedly scrambled Wilson and dragged him from one section of the East Ruimveldt Squatting Dam to another section and tossed him into a trench.

He then demanded his money from Wilson who remained quiet and at that point, Bourne reportedly whipped out a gun and shot Wilson as he was in the trench.

Bourne then walked away and as Wilson tried to make his way out of the trench with the aid of a resident. Bourne turned back and attempted to shoot Wilson again but was persuaded by persons not to do so, he Bourne then commented ‘dead you mother skunt’ before kicking Wilson to his face and other parts of the body before fleeing the scene.

Wilson worked as a security guard where he was recently rehired after being dismissed on a number if occasions.

Bourne for his part was recently released from jail on bail after he was charged with a number of robbery under arms offenses, committed in the Albouystown area.

Residents said the two were both involved in unlawful activities together and they are of the view that the shooting stemmed from the unequal division of loot.
