One businessman who reached out to this publication indicated that the area is affected by intense rainfall which started on Monday while waters from the river have overflowed their banks.

“Everyone is affected, and we have decided to put the women and children in boats and ordered them to move to high grounds, the rest of the persons are now making moves to get out of the area quickly because the water keeps rising,” Businessman Edwin Bess told BIG Smith News Watch on Tuesday afternoon.

According to what was communicated to us, as the water keeps rising, it is also threatening the internet system in the area which is also covered. Once covered, internet communication between the community and outside villages and further afield will be cut off.
