The trial for Lennox Wayne called ‘Two Colour’ who is accused of mudering 19-year-old Lusignan, East Coast Demerara (ECD) cosmetologist, Ashmini Hariram commenced on Tuesday. The trail began before Demerara High Court Judge Jo Ann Barlow and a mixed 12-member jury.

Upon his arraignment, Wayne, who is being represented by Attorneys-at-Law Ronald Daniels, Kiswana Jefford and A. Stephens, pleaded not guilty to the charge which stated that on July 10, 2014, he murdered the woman also called “Monisha Hariram”.

According to reports, on the day in question, Hariram and her cousin were walking along Lusignan Public Road, ECD when they saw a burgundy motorcar, PRR 8370 parked along the said road.

Hariram was relieved of an $8,000 cellphone but no attempt was made to snatch a gold necklace she was wearing.

A few minutes later, Hariram was shot in the head. It was reported that another man admitted to being the getaway driver while Wayne reportedly gave Police a caution statement admitting to the crime.

Wayne was on trial twice before for the murder of Hariram.
