GPHC accessible to unvaccinated persons – GPHC

Amidst growing concern and confusion surrounding the allowance of unvaccinated patients into its facilities, the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) is yet again affirming its position that health care is being offered to everyone.

According to a press release issued on Monday evening, the GPHC said that its doors remain open to all members of the public, regardless of one’s vaccination status. “…ANY patient who is seeking care within any of our facilities is NOT required to present proof of vaccination in order to enter the compounds,” the release reiterated.

Additionally, the GPHC through its press statement indicated that it will thoroughly investigate any reports of members of the public being denied access to health care at any one of its facilities.

The statement comes on the heels of an incident reported to this publication where a police officer was allegedly denied access to healthcare on Saturday last.

Strategic Planning and Communications Manager Chelauna Providence revealed to this newscast that upon the completion of preliminary investigations, officials from the GPHC reached out to the policeman in an effort to assist him. However, Providence noted that she is unable to confirm whether the assistance being offered was accepted.
