24 year old Mohamed Arshad Ally was this afternoon killed by an alleged drug addict at Bennett Dam, Rosignol, West Coast Berbice.

According to what has been communicated to the BIG Smith Crime Watch, the 24 year old had an iron plunged into his body as he was on his way to see his 21 year old wife who gave birth to their first child at noon today.

Mohamed Arshad Ally never got the chance to see his new born child. The decease has been married for just under a year now.

During visit to the community this afternoon, relatives of the dead man told the BIG Smith Crime Watch that for years, the suspect has been threatening the family. On numerous occasion the family visited the police station but they were told that suspect is of unsound mind.

However, relatives now want answers as they are contending that an insane person is not capable of transacting business, as it is reported that the suspect sell mangoes and coconut.

We were also told that it was only recently, the suspect who has since been detained, was released from jail after serving a two months sentence.

During our visit, blood stains could be seen on the roadway where the the 21 year-old fell and began bleeding profusely from his wound.

The police detectives are presently at the home of the deceased where they are conducting their investigations.

A number of persons have also gathered at the home to gave their support to the relatives.

The BIG Smith Crime Watch extends condolences to the wife, relatives and friends of Mohamed Arshad Ally.
