24-Y-O Biker killed after colliding with pedestrian

Dead: 24 Year old Latchman Hansraj

24 year old Latchman Hansraj, a Graphics Designer of Block D Bath Settlement, West Coast Demerara is now dead while a pedestrian is at home nursing minor bruises following an accident on the Seafield Public Road, West Coast Berbice.

BIG Smith Crime Watch was informed that the biker was riding a very fast rate on Sunday night when he collided with the pedestrian, the contact caused Hansraj to fall on the roadway while he his motorcycle CJ 5154 skidded several feel away, slamming into a car.

“He leave home yesterday saying he gong horse racing and about 11:00 last night we get a call to go to the hospital and when we go the doctor told us that he dead” Brigpaul Hansraj, a cousin of the deceased told BIG Smith Crime Watch.

Police sources indicated that Hansraj was riding along the northern side of the road while the pedestrian was also using the same side but heading in an easterly direction when the incident took place.

The injured man was picked up by public spirited citizens in an unconscious state before being rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The Pedestrian who was identified as a female was picked up in a conscious state according to our sources on the ground. After being taken to the hospital, she was treated and sent home.

The deceased sustained severe head injuries and other injuries about the body.  His remains is presently at the Anthony funeral home awaiting a postmortem examination.
