Suspect in Vigilance fatal shooting surrenders to police

A 20-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection with the fatal shooting of Shawn Edwards has turned himself in to police.
Sources told BIG Smith News Watch that Tyreese Chester, accompanied by Attorney-at-Law Dexter Todd, surrendered at the Vigilance Police Station on Tuesday night, where he was subsequently taken into custody.
Police had issued a wanted bulletin for Chester after Edwards, who was shot in the stomach on July 13, later succumbed to his injuries at the Enmore Regional Hospital.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
Meanwhile, police are still searching for those responsible for the July 8 double murder of 22-year-old Cordel August and 35-year-old Eon Headley, who were gunned down after two men on a motorcycle opened fire on a crowd at South Vigilance.
