President Ali rejects farm claims, Mohamed demands resignation

President Dr. Irfaan Ali has rejected allegations surrounding his privately owned farm, describing them as misinformation and maintaining that the property has always been publicly known and that all investments associated with it can be accounted for.
The President’s response came during a broadcast on his social media platform today, after Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed released a video and statement alleging that the Head of State owns a luxury ranch valued at nearly $5 billion along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway.

Addressing the claims, President Ali said suggestions that the farm had only recently been discovered were inaccurate.
While Mohamed has claimed that the property spans 150 acres, President Ali disputed the figure, stating that the land size is not even half of that.
The President also rejected the valuation put forward by Mohamed, describing it as highly exaggerated and saying the actual value is less than 20% of the figure being claimed.
“My farm is not a discovery. It is public information,” the Head of State stated.

He said the farm was developed through legitimate means without any preferential treatment from the State.
According to President Ali, the investment is financed through a substantial loan and has been properly declared.
“My farm carries a huge loan, and everything has been disclosed to the Integrity Commission, in and out of government. There is absolutely nothing to hide,” he said.
The President also disputed claims regarding the property’s size and value, describing them as exaggerated and misleading.
He maintained that the land lease is governed by the same terms and conditions that apply to other leaseholders and said no state-funded infrastructure or special concessions were provided for the farm’s development.
Responding to criticism from Mohamed, President Ali also addressed sanctions imposed on the Opposition Leader by the United States.
“These sanctions did not come from President Ali. They did not come from the PPP/C Government. They came from the United States of America,” the President stated.
President Ali further disclosed that he has received messages and recordings which he believes have security implications, adding that he intends to address what he described as attempts to misrepresent the facts.
He also announced plans to periodically livestream from the farm.
“I’ll go live because I want people to learn. I want people to see directly from me the misrepresentation and the mischief, the deception, the lies,” President Ali said.
He concluded by urging Guyanese to carefully assess information circulating in the public domain.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed issued a statement calling for President Ali’s immediate resignation.
“As Opposition Leader of Guyana, I am calling for the immediate resignation of President of Guyana, Irfaan Ali.”
Mohamed alleged that President Ali owns a 150-acre luxury estate ranch at Long Creek, along the Linden-Soesdyke Highway, which he claimed is worth more than $5 billion based on current market values. He also alleged that the property was developed after President Ali assumed office in 2020 and accused the President of corruption.
Mohamed further argued that the proposed Former Presidents (Benefits and Other Facilities) Bill would provide benefits including utilities, transportation, security and staff for former presidents, which he alleged could ultimately support the maintenance and operation of the President’s private property after he leaves office.
The Opposition Leader’s statement accompanied a nearly 25-minute video, posted Monday July 6 2026, showing what he identified as the President’s farm, including livestock, fish-rearing ponds and other agricultural facilities.
