(Dagblad Suriname) A 32-year-old Guyanese woman, Lisa Charran, was stabbed to death on New Year’s morning by her 48-year-old husband called ‘JD’ in Nieuw Amsterdam, Commewijne, during an argument. The couple reportedly began arguing about calling family on New Year’s Eve

The couple has three children between the ages of one and ten years old.

They rent part of a house while the owner of the property resides in the other part. According to him, the man and woman got into an argument while calling at night to convey best wishes to family.

The eldest of the children heard the mother screaming and saw that she was stabbed by the man outside with a knife. The woman was found in the garage of the residence. Stab wounds were found in her neck, arms, face, legs and chest.

An alarmed doctor has officially confirmed the woman’s death.

The perpetrator is still on the run.
