Guests in misery as Guyana Marriott AC system shuts down

Guests at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Kingston Georgetown are in discomfort and misery as the Five Star Hotel is experiencing a shutdown of its Air Conditioning System at the facility.
Contacted by this publication today, the Administrative Assistant of the Engineering Department whose name was only given as ‘Amanda’ could not be reached for an official comment or details on what might have led to the shutdown of the AC system.
The situation is affecting local and foreign guests at the hotel including airline crews who are on layovers in Georgetown.
BIG Smith News Watch was told the shutdown lasted throughout the night Tuesday and up to press time this afternoon Wednesday afternoon, the situation remains the same.
According to persons staying at the hotel, when the temperature began to rise and contact was made with the front desk on Tuesday night into the morning, several persons were relocated to other rooms until the hotel continued receiving numerous calls from guests, which confirmed that the problem was not an isolated one but that the entire facility was affected.
Several persons have since received points which will afford them further nights and days stay at the hotel as compensation for their discomfort.
The hotel’s Front Desk confirmed the problem and said the technical and engineering teams were working to have the matter rectified, no timeline was given for relief to guests
