GECSCE 2025 Opens, Highlighting Guyana’s Energy Potential

February 18 2025 – The highly anticipated 2025 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo (GECSCE) officially opened this morning at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Kingston, Georgetown, under the theme “Connecting the Dots, Integrating the Future.”
In her opening remarks, GECSCE CEO Kiana Wilburg highlighted the tremendous growth and achievements of the conference team over the past year.
In 12 months, the team has worked closely with key government agencies and private sector entities to successfully implement several landmark initiatives, Wilburg stated.
These initiatives included an energy run/walk, a conference village, the ‘Taste of Guyana’ event, and an essay competition, which garnered over 160 submissions from across the country.
Wilburg also emphasized efforts to enhance operational efficiency and client value through rigorous training by Sandler, one of the world’s leading professional development companies.
Guyana’s Expanding Energy Landscape
As the energy sector in Guyana continues to grow, the conference has ramped up production efforts, ensuring a dominant media presence while introducing innovative tools, such as mobile applications that provide critical sectoral updates and enhanced safety features for stakeholders.
Wilburg further noted that strengthening relationships with key partners and exhibitors remains a priority, positioning the conference as a crucial hub for collaboration within the energy, oil and gas, and supply chain industries.
Guyana’s Strategic Advantage for Investment
Guyana remains on an incredible growth trajectory, Wilburg highlighted, citing the country’s strategic location, vast natural resources, and pro-business government policies.
Guyana is one of the most resource-rich nations in the region and offers highly competitive fiscal incentives for investment, operational costs are low, and the government is committed to fostering a pro-business environment.
Between 2021 and 2023, Guyana reported the highest foreign direct investment (FDI) influx in the Caribbean, further solidifying its position as a prime destination for global investors.
With these advantages, Wilburg emphasized that Guyana provides a fertile ground for strong local and foreign partnerships, ensuring that the energy sector continues to drive national and regional development.
The 2025 Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo is expected to attract key industry leaders, investors, and policymakers, all eager to explore the opportunities within Guyana’s rapidly expanding energy sector.
