Four men charged with Haresh Singh’s murder

Four men have been charged with the murder of Haresh Singh. They appeared virtually before Magistrate Peter Hugh at Fort Wellington Magistrate Court on Tuesday the police said in a statement.

The four are:

• Philip Anderson called ‘Ratman’, MN, age 29 years of Lot 25 # 3 Village, West Coast Berbice
• Joel Gittins called ‘Bolo’, age 27 years of Jangotown, East Coast Demerara
• Gladston Henry called Gladwin Henry, aka ‘Soldierman’, age 27 years of # 3 Village, West Coast Berbice
• Charles Scott called ‘Bucko’, age 21 years of lot 29 Jarvis Street Rosignol, Berbice

A wanted bulletin was issued for one of the men but the police said that the men were arrested by ranks from the Guyana Police Force’s Major Crimes Unit.

They were not required to plead and they were remanded to prison. The case has been postponed to 12th July, 2021 and transferred to Blairmont Magistrate Court for report.

Singh was murder in September last year and his burnt motorcycle was found next to his body in a backdam on the West Coast of Berbice. Singh was murdered days after the murders of cousins Joel and Isiah Henry.

Three men have been charged with their murders.
