Businessman in custody for contractor’s execution on D’Urban Street

EXECUTED: 49-year-old Krisoondatt Premsukh 

A businessman has been arrested by the police as investigators probe the execution-style killing of 49-year-old Krisoondatt Premsukh of 183 Lusignan, East Coast Demerara.

The contractor reportedly had an affair with the businessman’s wife and on father’s day of this year, the contractor was shot twice in an attempt execution over the affair. The businessman has however vowed to ensure that the contractor is killed for the affair he and woman had.

Today police sources would not confirm the details of the arrest of the businessman but persons close to the investigation were able to confirm the details to this publication.

On Thursday Premsukh was shot several times about the body after a male walked onto a construction site on D’Urban Street and opened fire on the contractor in view of workers then fled the scene.

That incident took place just after 17:00hrs. The eyewitnesses told detectives that the gunman carried a handgun and that he was identifiable.

The contractor after being shot attempted to run away from the gunman but was again shot behind the left ear and fell onto the ground where he remained motionless.

He was picked up and rushed to the hospital where doctors there pronounced him dead on arrival.

Back at the crime scene, a number of spent shells for a .32 firearm were retrieved even as the police attempted to review CCTV footage from the area to aid in their investigation.

This publication was told that at the time of the shooting, the businessman had in his possession a licensed firearm with a number of live rounds. Those items along with the license for the firearm taken possession of by the police investigators and lodged at the East La Penitence Police Station.
