Danny Rajkumar, a 35-year-old labourer of South Better Hope, East Coast Demerara, has been remanded to prison after being charged with break and enter and larceny in connection with a burglary committed at Mon Repos.

Rajkumar appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court via Zoom on Thursday, May 28, 2026, where the charge was read to him.

It is alleged that sometime between May 23 and May 24, 2026, Rajkumar broke and entered the premises of a businessman at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, and stole property. The charge was instituted under Section 229(a) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01.

Rajkumar pleaded not guilty to the offence.

Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison until June 15, 2026, when the matter will continue.
