‘AIDS Man’ confesses; gun found at his home was used to kill businessman

(Dead: Shimron Adams/ Detained: Andrew Ridley & Akelow Marshall)
Detained murder suspect Andrew Ridley, called ‘AIDS Man,’ has reportedly admitted to robbing and murdering businessman Shimron Adams on Boxing Day.
The confession came as ballistic tests confirmed that the Taurus pistol that was found at Ridley’s home is the same firearm that was used to kill Adams.
Ridley is also a suspect in the November 11, 2022 gunning down of Laing Avenue resident Dexter McFarlene.
Also in custody for the Boxing Day murder is Ridley’s alleged accomplice, Akelow Marshall, who was nabbed on Thursday while heading to Springlands, Corentyne.
A girlfriend of the slain businessman has identified Marshall and Ridley as the gunmen who robbed and killed Adams at his D’urban Street business place.
Adams’ girlfriend, who is also in custody, said Ridley is her lover. She told police that Ridley robbed and killed Adams after learning that she and Adams were having an affair.
She alleged that on December 22, ‘AIDS Man’ saw several text messages, as well as photographs of her and Adams and told her that he would rob Adams. She claimed that despite her pleas, the lover insisted he would rob Adams and also kept her phone.
She alleged that she was at Adams’ D’urban Street establishment when ‘AIDS Man’ and another man, known as ‘Akelo’, entered the premises through a shutter. She claimed that the men, both carrying handguns, relieved Adams of a gold band and gold finger ring.
‘AIDS Man’ allegedly then shot Adams while trying to relieve the victim of a bag.
