Micheal Leonard has confirmed that he has resigned from the Alliance for Change. Leonard up to the time of his resignation was chairman of the AFC Georgetown Chapter.

In a brief comment on Tuesday morning, Leonard confirmed his resignation, asked for his reasons he said, “I am just stepping away from politics.”

Leonard confirmed that his resignation was accepted by the party.

As a consequence of this resignation, Leonard is also resigning as a city councillor. He represents the AFC on the Georgetown Mayor and City Council. “I am working with them to arrange who will be the person to take up the seat (on the council),” Leonard said

Asked if he is moving to another political party, Leonard said “no, no, I am stepping away from politics.”

Only recently, another party member Joel Edmond resigned from the Alliance for Change.
