Woman takes her life after checking into short-time hotel

Things turn deadly yesterday in Middle Mazaruni when a miner who was attempting to stab his reputed wife was accosted by his colleague he then turned his weapon on.

BIG Smith News Watch was told that the woman’s cries for help were heard by co-workers of the suspect who raced to see what was going on. They then observed that their workmate was attempting to harm the woman and one of them decided to intervene.

An argument then ensued between the pacemaker and the suspect which saw the latter using the same knife he was attacking the woman with and turned it on the man who came to her rescue.

The peacemaker received several stabs about the body and the suspect fled the scene.  Police sources indicated to this publication that the incident took place on Sunday but due to the terrain and the transportation woes, the body of the victim is still at the crime scene awaiting to be transferred out of the area.

The police are yet to arrest the suspect even as the female who is said to have been placed into a safe location until the police arrive, will also be escorted out to Bartica to provide the police with a statement on the matter.

BIG Smith News Watch has not been able to confirm the names of any of the parties involved in this unfortunate incident.
