Gold miner fatally stabbed by wife in Noitdedacht

A 34-year-old gold miner died following an altercation with his reputed wife at their camp in Noitgedacht Backdam, Potaro, Region Eight, shortly after midnight on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Ziggy Webster, of 111 Miles, Mahdia Airstrip.
According to preliminary information, Webster and his 27-year-old reputed wife, a cook from 111 Miles, Mahdia, were involved in an argument at their camp.
The confrontation reportedly escalated, during which Webster allegedly chopped the woman several times about her body with a cutlass, leaving her injured. The woman allegedly responded by stabbing Webster in the right buttock with a kitchen knife.
Both were subsequently taken to the Mahdia District Hospital for medical attention.
Webster succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced dead by a doctor.
His body was later taken to the Campbelltown Mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination to determine the official cause of death.
The 27-year-old woman remains hospitalised in stable condition while receiving treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
