Six Cuban nationals have been fined and ordered deported after pleading guilty to an immigration offence at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court.

The accused—Danne Gonzalez Ramirez, 23; Cesar Lazaro Suarez Echarte, 40; Yoandro Castillo Rojas, 49; Leidi Rosa Rodriguez Hernandez, 26; Hachet Pimienta Simon, 23; and Masiel Montoya Simon, 26—were arrested and charged with failing to present themselves to an immigration officer before departing Guyana.

The charge was brought under Section 10(3) of the Immigration Act, Chapter 14:02.

The six appeared before Magistrate Nikkisha Logan on Thursday, August 20, 2026, where the charge was read to them. Each pleaded guilty and was fined GY$20,000.

The court also ordered that all six be deported from Guyana.
