Long Creek woman killed by 65-Y-O partner

A 39-year-old woman from Long Creek along the Soesdyke–Linden Highway has died following a domestic altercation at her home early Sunday morning.
The woman, identified as Caslene Toney, was reportedly involved in a dispute with a 65-year-old welder with whom she shared a common-law relationship. The dispute escalated later that night when the suspect went to Hartman’s residence armed with a cutlass, leading to a confrontation.
At about 06:00 hrs on Monday, Hartman was discovered lying motionless in a pool of blood at his home with multiple chop wounds about his body.uring the confrontation, the man allegedly armed himself with a sharp object and inflicted several injuries on the woman.
Accordinf to a police report, Toney was initially taken to the Linden Hospital Complex where she received medical treatment before being transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. Despite efforts by medical staff, she later succumbed to her injuries.
The suspect, who is currently hospitalised with suspected self-inflicted injuries, remains under guard as investigations continue.
