43-Y-O man dies in Lusignan accident

A fatal road accident claimed the life of a 43-year-old man on Sunday evening, March 1, 2026, along Lusignan Public Road.
The incident occurred around 19:18 hrs and involved motor car PAK 2521, driven by a 28-year-old taxi driver from Buxton, East Coast Demerara, and pedestrian Arvindo Mahaballi of Lusignan.
Reports indicate that the motor car was travelling west along the northern driving lane of the southern carriageway when it collided with Mahaballi, who was crossing the roadway at the time.
As a result of the impact, the pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor from the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Mahaballi’s body was later taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
