Wrenrick Harper, a postal worker who hails from Linden was dragged from a minibus Saturday night that was providing public transportation services. The registration plate for the minibus was recorded as BAF 6841.

Harper said he joined the minibus at the Grove Bus Park and the moment the driver pulled off, discomfort and uneasiness stepped in for him and other passengers. Things began to get scary for the passengers when the minibus turned onto High Street Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.

“The driver trying to beat the John Fernandes trailer by the turn so it’s right  by the turn he pass the John Fernandes trailer inches more we could have been in an accident” Passenger Hrper explained

According to him, with the use of expletives, he and others questioned the driver’s poor judgment. One elderly man in the minibus asked to be let out for his safety.

Harper said as the bus continued its journey, he kept questioning how the driver was using the road. That however did not go down well for him. He was left in the middle of nowhere in Eccles, East Bank Demerara.

“When we meet Eccles now, he took the road behind the gas station and they put me out. The conductor came around to the side I was sitting because the bus has two side doors, he opened the door because I was videoing, snatched my phone, snatched me by my jersey dragged me out of the bus, then placed my phone into my pocket and they drove off” Harper explained to this publication.

According to him, he visited the Agricola Police Outpost and was directed to the Providence Police Station. There he repeated the ordeal and a police report was entered.

On Tuesday morning the conductor was arrested and the police held a confrontation between the two.

Charges are likely to be laid against the conductor for assault and the driver for failing in his obligation to drop his passenger to his destination.
