An elderly resident of Bushlot Village West Coast Berbice was this morning found murdered in her own home.

Dead is ‘Aunty Betty’ as she is known to the community and who would have been celebrating her 85th Birth Anniversary today Monday.

Police Sources have indicated that the body of the woman was found just around 05:00 and 05:30 on Monday morning at her Latchmansingh School Street, Bushlot, West Coast Berbice.

‘Aunty Betty’ who had no children, lived alone for most of her life until recently when a niece began living with her.

The niece reportedly told the police that men invaded the house, tied her up and took her downstairs while her aunt was murdered upstairs. The niece based on information reaching this publication, has some marks of violence on her hands.

It is unclear at this point if the niece was able to untie herself after the alleged bandits left or if she managed to raise an alarm.

‘Aunty Betty’ is said to be the oldest member of the Bushlot Assembly of God Church.
