A 46-year-old construction worker has been convicted by a jury of raping a 13-year-old girl. Clincy David was found unanimously guilty on two counts following a trial before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Sexual Offences Court in Georgetown.

Sentencing for the child rapist has been deferred to June 10.

He was represented by Attorney-at-Law Teriq Mohammed while State Counsel Cecilia Corbin appeared on behalf of the prosecution.

David first raped the girl on April 8, 2020; then again on July 13, 2020. The incident occurred in the bedroom of a house located in the county of Demerara.
