(L-R)Journalist Leroy ‘BIG’ Smith and businessman Feroz Khan AKA Sean Major

Businessman Feroz Khan popularly known as Sean Major has arrived at an out-of-court settlement with journalist Leroy Smith popularly known as BIG Smith hours before he, Khan was expected to appear in court to answer a criminal charge.

The matter was called this morning in the Georgetown Magistrate Court 6.

Smith a few months ago filed a report with the police claiming that Major in a WhatsApp group intimidated and harrassed him with a series of messages which were laced with profanities.

The Director of Public Prosecution after reviewing the facts of the matter recommended that Feroz Khan known as Sean Major be charged under the cybercrime Act of Guyana.

An affidavit which among other things speaks to a non-disclosure of the sum offered and accepted as the settlement was signed by Smith.

The charges stemmed from a situation back in June where Dhan Shyamraj prevented Leroy Smith from exiting the Luxury Reality gated Community known as Richmondville located on the East Bank Demerara.

After Dhan Shyamraj committed the unlawful act of preventing the free movement of Smith and the police were called in, the woman was cautioned but proceeded to continue with the same act a few hours later.

She subsequently went into a WhatsApp group and misrepresented the instructions given to her by the police in relation to denying the free movement of persons living in the community.

Faroz Khan called Sean Major then got into a rage and responded to the misinformation provided by Dhan Shyamraj and he, Sean Major began directing derogatory and degrading remarks to Leroy smith which prompted the police report being made by Smith.

Dhan Shyamraj is presently before the court criminally charged under the kidnapping act for restricting the movement of the said Leroy Smith. That matter comes up again on November 04, 2021.

Richmondville Housing Development is a gated community that is owned and managed by Luxury Reality Inc. There have been several misunderstandings between the Developer and persons who purchased lands in the community for millions of dollars.

The infrastructure in the community leaves much to be desired and frequent requests by homeowners and residents for answers to be given on how maintenance funds are spent and updates on further planned development as per contractual agreements have not always been forthcoming in a timely manner.
