BREAKING: 2 arrested as gunmen on motorcycles storm Harbour Bridge during retraction

Quick response by the Guyana Police Force has resulted in the apprehension of two suspects with loot in their possessions after a daring coordinated attack on commuters who were parked on the east end of the Demerara Harbour Bridge during an early Wednesday morning retraction.

BIG Smith News Watch has been informed that approximately eight men on motorcycles, some carrying firearms, pounced on the commuters as they sat in their vehicles awaiting the bridge to be reopened to traffic.

After the robbery, alarms were raised and the police quickly responded and was able to arrest two of the suspects.

Those arrested have been identified as 23 year old Calvin Cumberbatch of Lot 70 Castello Housing Scheme and a 15  year -old whom the police have identified.

The Guyana Police Force is continuing their investigations into this crime and are asking anyone who may have knowledge of the others involved or their associates to contact the nearest police station.
