$ 1M bail for Dharamlall amidst thunderous calls for his dismissal

Nigel Dharamlall was on Monday through his Attorney At Law Nigel Hughes, able to secure station bail to the tune of One Million Guyana Dollars as he faces rape allegations and calls for him to resign.
Dharamlall, who has been serving as the Minister of Local Government, announced that he sought and was granted permission on Sunday to proceed on leave to allow investigations into the rape allegations against him.
Having secured bail, he is expected to report to the police station at 08:00hrs on Tuesday morning.
The Guyana Police Force on Monday released their first official comment on the matter, stating that they are indeed investigating a matter of rape and that Nigel Dharamlall who visited the police station with his lawyer has been arrested as part of the ongoing investigations.
Over the last three days, there have been calls for the Minister to resign, be fired, and be charged and jailed in relation to the allegations being made against him. There are also reported that Dharmall also reportedly paid over ten million Guyana Dollars to the parents and or a young girl who it is alleged that he raped.
The police investigations into the matter are ongoing.
