Mother fears for life after abusive former partner sets house on fire

A Sophia mother of two is now living in fear after her former partner allegedly set her house on fire. Stacy Boston ended her almost 17-year old relationship with man she is accusing of making it difficult for her to have a normal life. Boston said that ending the relationship has led to treats which has prompted her to involve the police.
She said too that the police’s reaction left much to be desired, Boston had gone to the Turkeyen Police Station to lodge a report about the abuse, but she said an officer there shrug off the report by telling her “that I got to get a gunman to deal with this man.” Recounting the events on December 4, 2020, Boston recalled hearing about the alleged arson attack on her home, “people in the neighbourhood saw him but scared to go to the station and talk and say he did it,” Stacy told this publication.

Out of frustration, Boston had her former paramour’s photo on social media, he then threatened to sue her. After that she opted to file a report about the fire at the Brickdam Police Station. The man showed up to make a report too and was arrested and placed self- bail, and taken to court. Not satisfied with the pace of the investigation, given that she continues to live in fear, Stacy went back to the Brickdam Police Station on Tuesday and was confronted with “we are investigating.”
“I was at the station yesterday because I am not feeling comfortable. So, when I went to the station yesterday, I went heavy on them because I am homeless, my children homeless, and all yall going to tell me that y’all investigating.”
She added, “I went to the fire service to uplift some documents, and they said that the fire report was already finished, but I don’t know who got to take it or who had to send it through.”
The aggravated woman contends that there are a number of things that can place the man behind bars, only if “only if they are waiting for him to kill me,” a fearful Boston said.
When contacted, Regional Commander of Division 4 A, Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean, explained that he dealt with the matter personally. He said no evidence suggests that the man lit the house on fire. In fact, he noted that there was no witness.
