Police are questioning a teenage girl over alleged threats she made to torch the female dormitory at Annai Secondary School, Region Nine.

A senior police official said that the threats were reportedly made on the same day that four male students allegedly set a fire that razed the St. Angela Girls’ Hostel at Karasabai, Region Nine.

While not disclosing the girl’s age the official told BIG Smith News watch that she is one of the students who is housed in the Annai dormitory.

The official said that police are on high alert and have urged those in charge of schools, as well as residents, to be vigilant.

Nineteen girls and a five year-old boy perished after a female student allegedly set fire to the female dormitory at the Mahdia Secondary School on Sunday May 21.

Then last Thursday, 17 female students, aged 11 to16 and two dorm mothers escaped unhurt after four boys allegedly torched the dormitory at St. Angela’s Girl’s Hostel at Karasabai.
