BREAKING: Three murder accused escape from Lusignan Prison

BREAKING: Three murder accused escape from Lusignan Prison

ON THE RUN: Mark Rafino, Alex Mathais and Arnold Kennedy

Police sources have confirmed that three murder accused escaped from the Lusignan Prison sometime between Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.

Those on the run have been identified as Alex Mathias, Arnold Kennedy and Mark Rafino. Mathias was admitted to prison back in April 2019; Kennedy and Rafino in July 2019 .

Rafino was arrested by the police and charged in connection with a robbery-murder. He was picked up at Parika, East Bank Essequibo and according to prison files, measures 5’6” in height. He is said to be of a mixed race and bears scars on his neck and stomach. At the time of his arrest, he was 20 years old and worked as a labourer.

Kennedy, according to the prison files, has a tattoo on the left side of his chest and one on his left hand. He is said to be of East Indian descent and has a tattoo on the right side of his face. At the time of his arrest, he was 19 years old and worked as a fisherman.

Mathias, according to prison records, is 5’6” in height and was arrested in Essequibo at the age of 20. He is identified as being of Amerindian descent. He has tattoos on his forearm as well as scars on his forehead and under his right eye.

Details on how the men escaped from the prison facility are not yet available to this publication, and the prison service is said to be preparing an official statement on the development.
