A 63-year-old mechanic from Baramita has been sentenced to 12 months in prison after pleading guilty to two charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

Kevin Bess, also known as “Generator Man,” of Barama Line, Baramita, was charged in connection with the discovery of 1,180.7 grams of cannabis and 23.1 grams of cocaine found in his possession at Warapa, Baramita, North West District, on August 29, 2026.

Bess appeared via Zoom on Monday, August 31, at the Port Kaituma Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Robindranauth Singh. The charges were read separately, and he pleaded guilty to both.

He was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment on each charge, with the sentences ordered to run concurrently.

Bess was also fined G$1.75 million for the cannabis and G$326,000 for the cocaine, bringing the total fines to G$2.076 million.

He was arrested on Saturday, August 29, during a police operation in the Warapa area. Ranks searched Bess and allegedly found the narcotics in his possession.
