Tuschen murder suspect spotted in Pomeroon

The man wanted in connection with the murder of 45-year-old Sonia Wilson has reportedly been spotted at a logging camp in the Pomeroon area, Essequibo, as investigators continue efforts to locate him.

Sources close to the investigation said Shane Campbell, Wilson’s husband, is believed to be staying at the camp with a relative.

Campbell reportedly travelled to Parika around the time Wilson was killed and later boarded a vessel at the Parika Stelling, according to information gathered during the investigation.

Meanwhile, a post-mortem examination conducted on Wilson’s body has confirmed that she died after sustaining multiple stab wounds.

Wilson, a mother of one who worked as a cook at an interior mining camp, was found dead on the veranda of her Block 8, Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo home at about 3:00 p.m. on August 10.

Persons close to Wilson have described her relationship with Campbell as an “on and off” one and alleged that she had previously been threatened.

Investigators are continuing efforts to locate Campbell as the probe into Wilson’s death continues.
