Prison escapee’s father helped four escapees with change of clothing

As four prison escapees remain on the run, the father of one of the men admitted to aiding the four men recently.

On the run are Imran Ramsaywack, Samuel Gouveia, Ryan Jones and Kenrick Lyte. They escaped from the Mazaruni Prison on Monday. On Thursday, the Guyana Police Force said that Ralph Jones father of Rayon Jones admitted to assisting the men.

The police in a statement said that the elder Jones told officers that his son contacted him via phone following his escape.

“All four of the escapees showed up at his house where he provided each of them with a change of clothing. He in turn collected the clothes that they were wearing and dumped them in an alleyway aback his house in Fourth Avenue Bartica,” the police statement said.

Police said that ranks were able to recover a bag with clothing, footwear,
deodorant, topes, pillow and pillow-cases, along with a bottle of Red Star rub, a toothbrush and a food bowl.

The men remain on the run. The police did not say if the elder Jones would be charged soon.
