A husband and wife are now battling for their lives at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after they were stabbed and robbed by two knife-wielding bandits.

The victims 49-year-old Keith Williams, a mason, and 42-year-old Allison Williams, a housewife both of Farm Mahaicony Gardens, East Coast Demerara (ECD) are said to be in a serious condition.  Big Smith News Watch understands that Keith received a stab wound to his left side chest while Allison sustained a stab wound to her left side lower abdomen.

Reports are that on Old Years Night at about 19:45 hrs, Keith and his wife were in the living room when he opened the western door to allow his cat into the house. Williams reportedly told investigators that as soon as he opened the door, he was confronted by two suspects who were wearing masks.

According to Keith, the bandits began demanding cash in which he told them that he didn’t have any. He added that the bandits then stabbed him and his wife and relieved them of his gold wedding ring, a wristwatch, and his wallet with a disclosed amount of cash.

The men then made good their escape in an unknown direction while Keith and his wife were picked up by a friend and rushed to the Mahaicony Public Hospital where they were seen and examined by a doctor on duty. They were later transferred to the GPHC and are presently undergoing treatment.

When contacted, Regional Commander Kurleigh Simon told Big Smith News Watch that bloodstains were seen on the couple’s living room floor.

He said no forced entry was seen on the house but slippers suspected to belong to the bandits were found. No one has been arrested but investigations are ongoing.
