BREAKING NEWS: Bomb was planted moments before Regent Street explosion

October 27, 2025
The Security forces in Guyana are treating the explosion at the Regent Street Mobile Service Station, which has claimed the life of a child and left several other persons injured, as a terrorist attack. Already, a suspect is being sought by law enforcement.
Multiple sources familiar with the investigation have reported to BIG Smith News Watch that the explosion was triggered by a bomb that was planted at the location moments before the explosion.
According to our sources, a Spanish-speaking national was seen attempting to place the bomb into one of the garbage bins, which are usually close to the gas pump.
After seeing that the item was too bulky to fit into the trash, an employee shouted at the suspect, who then left and set the object down close to the store room of the gas station.
Detectives have found a hole at the location, which they believe was the point from where the bomb was detonated, while it is suspected that the bomb was a C-4, which has still not been determined.
Those affected by the explosion on Sunday night are Ashmini Dial, 28; Andre McRae, 55; Jenica Hooper, 27; Ikeal Causeway, 25; Rashad Lord, 8; Soraya Bourne, 6; and Sadiya McClintock, 11.
As a result of the explosion, 6-year-old Soraya Bourne was killed. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Last evening at the site of the explosion, the police were out with their bomb sniffing dog, their forensic vehicle, and had cordoned off the area leading to the Gas Station. Several nearby buildings around the gas station suffered tremendous damage, with the glass being shattered, and other structural damage was also visible.
Earlier this year, a bomb was tossed at the East Ruimveldt Police Outpost.
