Reverend – Desiree Williams- Bascom as she performs one of her hits at her Album Launch and Birthday anniversary

As a little girl, now Reverend – Desiree Williams- Bascom started singing in church.

“I have been singing all the time,” she said in an interview with BIG Smith News Watch.

The 66-year-old woman described her childhood as “rough” as she grew up with her uncle in Berbice before joining her mother.

“I had to start working in my teens, affecting my ability to complete my exams. I also got married early,” she said, but singing has always been her solace.

Years later, Desiree was in her early 20s when she progressed to writing her own songs. At that time, there were cassettes available to record her songs before this turned into CD.

The Reverend believes it is God who places the words in her spirit and promised herself to record an album every year.

Recently, she released a new album titled ‘God of the Impossible.’

The reverend said the feeling of releasing her own album is a proud moment for her as she urged others to not give up on their dreams.

“I want to say when god has birthed something in you, you need not let it die because we all were born with talents. It doesn’t matter where you start but is where you end. Don’t give up on your talent,” she noted.
The album contains six songs and can be purchase for a price of GYD $1,500

Two weeks ago, Desiree Williams-Bascom celebrated her 66 birth anniversary with all her children gathered and other close relatives gathered.
